In Spring 2023, Black Girls Film Camp provided its second annual all-expenses paid LA Production Retreat at USC in partnership with USC Annenberg's Critical Media Project for teen directors, their editor, coach, and a parent to attend. This trip was held from April 26th - May 1st, 2023. During the weekend retreat, participants attended sessions led by USC Annenberg and The School of Cinematic Arts' professors, UTA agents, Salli Richardson Whitfield, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Shaun Robinson, engaged in a customized visit and experience at Array's Creative Campus and Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, attended a high tea hosted by Board Member and filmmaker, Nichelle Tramble Spellman, took a shooting basics course taught by Miki Turner, and visited the Academy Museum.
