    CAMP PREP 1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF Share your name, a photo of you doing something that brings you joy, and tell us why you chose to share the photo. After you post, comment on at least one other person's post and introduce yourself. (Be sure to add a profile pic/headshot for your post) 2. REVIEW CAMP WEBSITE Review the camp website and where everything is located. Click on the team folder and locate your folder where you will upload your weekly footage. Review your workplans in your folders. View the camp schedule and speakers. If you have any questions, share them at the bottom of the camp homepage. 3. WATCH 2 SHORT FILMS Watch two short films with your production team. Discuss what you like and what you would have done differently if you were the writer/director/editor. Short films are located on the homepage of the website or by clicking "FILMS" in the menu on the homepage. 4. SHORT FILM REVIEW Share your production teammates' names and the short film you all have seen and enjoyed the most. Tell us why your team liked the film. (Be sure to add a profile pic/headshot for your post) 5. YOUR STORY REVIEW Share your story mountain and beat sheet with your team. When discussing your story mountain with your team, identify the goal of your film/story and the goal of your protagonist. In one sentence, finalize the logline of your film in the comments section below. A logline is a very brief synopsis of your film. View film posters from previous cohorts and read their loglines for ideas. (Be sure to add a profile pic/headshot for your post) 6.     In Spring 2022, Black Girls Film Camp provided an all-expense paid LA Retreat at USC in partnership with USC Annenberg's Critical Media Project for teen directors, their editor, coach, and a parent to attend. This trip was held from April 29th - May 1st 2022. During the weekend retreat, participants attended sessions led by USC Annenberg and The School of Cinematic Arts' professors, a high tea hosted by Board Member, Nichelle Tramble Spellman, took a shooting basics course taught by Miki Turner, and visited the Academy Museum and Hollywood Blvd. THE 2022 LA RETREAT REELS

The event was live-streamed to a national audience, with over a thousand viewers watching it. Black Girls Film Camp is excited to usher in its new cohort of alumni and films, now totaling 40 stories produced by the program written and directed by aspiring high school Black girl filmmakers from across the world. THIS IS A FREE PROGRAM The Black Girls Film Camp will be held virtually in Spring 2026, from February 27 to June 27, 2026, on select Saturdays from 10 am - 1:30 pm EST. The camp targets high school girls between the ages of 13 and 18 years old. Applications close on Oct. 31, 2025 at 11:59pm ET.
