The Black Girls Film Camp will be held virtually in Spring 2027, from February 18 to June 19, 2027, on select Saturdays from 10 am - 1:30 pm EST. The camp targets high school girls between the ages of 14 and 18 years old. Applications close on Oct. 31, 2026 at 11:59pm ET.

 

Interested participants must be:

• In high school and between the ages of 14 and 18

• Self-identify as a girl or gender expansive

• Interested in storytelling and film

Requirements:

• Attend virtual orientation on 2/3/2026 from 7pm - 9pm EST

• Commit to 8 Saturday sessions between 2/27 - 6/19/2027

• Attend a Writers Retreat in Wilmington, NC from 2/18 - 2/21/2027         (All expenses covered for Teen Director)

• Attend Shoot Weekend in Atlanta, GA from  5/14 - 5/17/20277             (All expenses covered for Teen Director)

• Attend Premiere Weekend in Charlotte, NC from 7/8 - 7/11/2027   

• (All expenses covered Teen Director)

• Write and direct a  5 - 7 minute short film

• Lead a production team with a film editor, creative producer, cinematographer, and alumni coach.
